Nancy O'Dell's debut work in the industry of broadcast was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports on the lenient police approach towards DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the state authorities re-issuing the strictest guidelines regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and also contributes to Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Also, she co-hosted Miss America's Pageant as well as the Miss Universe Pageant.
